Polvo – Today's Active Lifestyles

To the people complaining, you owe it to the label put on your big boy pants and -- mixture 25% 91% alcohol, 75% distilled water and a drop or two of dish soap -- and give the pressing an honest review.

These folks are ultimately reissuing music we love and allowing us to listen to rare presses on vinyl, like we want to so much, for a pricw affordable to regular people.

The records sounds great. I washed mine.

I bought this CD in ‘97, and it rearranged my brain so much that it nearly ruined me for all other math rock & noisy indie rock type stuff for a long time. I whispered about it to people in hushed, reverential tones, giving it my highest recommendation. Now I still appreciate it, but the lyrics are so dopey that it’s hard to get enthused to listen to it. And the excessive changing of melodies & time signatures within each song seems gimmicky. I’ll still give it 4 to 4.5 stars just for its brash innovation and the “Wow!” factor it inflicts. I think their ‘94 EP is even better and more badass, with fewer tedious Malkmus-isms in the lyrics.

The first words spoken on Irlene Mandrell - Texersize (or at least on the accompanying workout video clip on that page) are “Today’s active lifestyles…” Could Polvo have been fans of Barbara Mandrell’s kinetic aerobics instructin’ sister back in the day?

10/10 record all the way through, idk why it took me this long to appreciate this one. polvo rules

sounds fine, snaps and crackles alot. can't complain, as rough trade had the wrong listing up, so they just refunded me and let me keep my. copy

hi, is there any difference in sound quality from this and the colored red/yellow vinyl?

Anybody else experiencing a defect at the end of side 2 ? When the needle reaches the end of Gemini Cusp it jumps backwards , landing about 45 seconds before where it jumped from. I can't even imagine listening to this without Gemini Cusp ! Ugh really bummed about this...

My brand new sealed copy was scuffed and scratched out of the sleeve. It actually looks like the vinyl has dirt pressed right into it. Really disappointed. Polvo deserve a better pressing than this.
