Ramones – Rocket To Russia

Great pressing and good punchy sound.

Some years ago.Really glad with this one.

A very vibrant and punchy pressing, the vinyl itself is quiet and of high quality. I for long had my eyes on the most recent Rhino reissue but this one came along unexpectedly. My search is now over.

have an exact match NM copy in hand, in this is one of the worst pressed records i have ever heard in my life. side A starts with some repeating clicks before the first song, and it quickly becomes a Painfully LOUD patch of static that repeats on every revolution. its much louder than the music. its awful. its so bad, i gave up after 2 tries at cleaning it, and could only do spot checks after the first 3 songs. i have no idea how side 2 sounds, but dont even bother. side 1 is absolutely unlistenable.

Happy to report—just like all other reviews for this pressing—this one's a winner. Ramones on anything that isn't vinyl is near sacrilege and thankfully Rhino does them justice yet again. Crank it!

Does anyone knows if this came with a printed inner sleve or just a standard white one?

This pressing absolutely thumps. Sounds so good, and very analog.

This is the most fun of all the Ramones' albums - surf punk at its best. Tommy Ramone went out on a high point on this one--his drums sound really great, especially on surf raveups like "Rockaway Beach, Sheena & Surfin' Bird. The guitars have that fabulous tube warmth, as does the bass. Vocals sound great as well, with lots of subtle backing vocals adding to the fun!

Great clear and punchy sound, much better produced than most punk albums of the era. The Ramones really had it together by this point. Pick one of these up if you're looking for a good copy

Bought this while I waited for a reasonably priced first pressing (because I love the history aspect of collecting vinyl) . Got my first pressing today! And I am pleased to announce that this 2018 pressing stacks up very nicely to the original. This reissue is just a tad less high end, but still snappy. Sounds great! Highly recommend this pressing.

My copy doesn't have any skipping issues, and this is one of the better modern reissues that I own. Good volume, quiet noise floor, no noticeable visual defects, no warps, punched on center... this is one to get if you see it.

Either there were some bad eggs in the batch to look out for (hopefully weeded out by now), or it's susceptible to skipping in specific table setups (for example I have a handful of slightly warped records that will NOT play with my Grado cart but are fine with almost any other.) Take it all as speculation, because mine is fine.

I do find it a little bit funny and ironic that they bothered to make a 180 gram audiophile repressing of a Ramones record, but am glad they reissued this excellent album in any form.
