Albert Ayler Trio – Spiritual Unity

Badly pressed and of dubious legality, I would suggest avoiding this and buying a proper version, as I will do when I find one within my price range.

The bonus track "Spirits II" on this CD seems to be the same length as the bonus track titled "Vibrations" (aka [Tune Q]) that appears as a bonus track on the 2014 50th Anniversary issue (https://www.discogs.com/release/6163833-Albert-Ayler-Trio-Spiritual-Unity). Can anyone please confirm if they're the same?

Gona add to the comments about pressing quality. Got a visually VG+ copy and it skipped about 2 seconds in. Had to clean the hell out of it and it finally went away. Then further into the record i noticed other things, cleaning the record like a mad man def helped but still.

Is there supposed to be a weird “ding” tone about half way through the “Ghosts” on side B?? It’s very loud.

My copy has the space to put a number (bottom right back cover) but left blank. Maybe a promo copy? Or were more than 1,000 issued?

This issue sounds pretty bad, like it was recorded from an adjacent room -- no bottom end, very distant and digital in texture, strongly biased towards one channel. I've found that a lot of other ESP-Disk CD reissues have this problem, though Patty Waters - Sings seems to escape this.

A message to the owner (very important as i am a writer on musics) : is is the B1 Spirits similar to the actual B1 Spirits on the original Mono ESP Disk 1002 Spiritual Unity album ? Indeed this version of Spirits (US orIginal ESP 1002) is a trio performance of the same "Spirits" composition on side A of the Spirits album issued on Debut (a/k/a Witches and Devils/ Black Lion or Arista Freedom) and the Spirits included in ESP 3030 Prophecy (Cellar Café NYV 12 june 64). The so-called Spirits on subsequent reissues of Spiritual Unity is a performance of the tune "Children" on Side A of Ghosts (Debut w. Cherry Murray Peacock) a/k/a Vibrations (Freedom Black Lion or Arista). On both Spirits of side B2 track one all stereo re-issues of ESP 1002 and Children on Ghosts (Debut) , Gary Peacock is playing arco bass and the tune is a slow dirge but the bass is plucked on the "real Spirits" tune.

This world limit is stupid to be honest

There's some crackles on my copy, but upon further listens they aren't a continuous noise and may even be a product of the masters they had to work from--meaning, the crackles to me sound a bit like an old record rather than a defect. However, don't let that deter you. My copy sounds good and the little bit of occasional surface noise is not a bother. Nice sounding record.
