Let’s face it, early White Stripes is some lofi goodness so consider this when reading this review. For a dude who advocates for the format and owns a pressing plant, you would think the quality of his pressings would be a bit better. We all know Jack loves lofi, raw recordings but that does not mean we want clicks and pops due to flaws from the pressing plant. Ya know? Thus when considering this purchase, I decided to go with the VMP pressing. They have not let me down yet, well minus the fact VMP is a shit show lately. Anyway, on with the review. No surface noise here, soundstage is rather small but what can we expect from a drummer and a singer/guitarist? It’s a flimsy record, but that does not bother me. Overall, wonderful sounding record. Do not hesitate to purchase.

My sealed copy has tiny pops throughout and dimple on the b side. Sounds okay but the pops will bother you if you're neurotic like I am.

Yeah I cannot find my version on here. It is pretty beefy with a whole lot of demos etc...Was never a fan of Jack White issuing his own stuff in the vault.

Sounds good, but my pressing was just nasty right out of the package. Tons of white streaking, making the record look cloudy across some spots. Didnt seem to affect the sound but was pretty visually bad

Happy to finally have this gem in the collection. Wanted to get it at the time of release but I was always too broke. Snagged a used, complete copy for 33 dollars at Reckless in Chicago. VMP never miss in my book

Great album. Yes, the pressing is a little more noisy than I care for, even after a wet cleaning. BUT...this album is very bare bones and garage rock, so it really goes along with the whole White Stripes aesthetic to be honest. I don't mind it....on this album only, LOL. The album itself is brilliant!
