Patti Smith – Horses

Horses is the debut studio album by American musician Patti Smith, released by Arista Records 1975.

First issued in the US with catalog number AL 4066 in 1975.
-First state labels are light blue with white or black Arista label, no TM next to it, and no warning about Unauthorized duplication. Both appeared in 1976.
-First state covers have Horses in white lettering. Issues with black lettering followed very soon.
-First state lacquer cuts feature runout text with STERLING RL MOM+DAD on side 1 and Daddy Frank - Linda+Todd STERLING RL on side 2. Three plants were engaged, Peter Pan, Waddell, and PRC. Lacquers pressed at Peter Pan had a crossed out 6066 in the runout. These lacquers were used in some cases through 1979.
1976: second state labels with black Arista logo with TM appeared. Covers can have black or white titles. Unauthorized duplication verbiage appears.
1977 third state labels with black background and blue Arista logo (with TM) appeared. Later in 1977, the price on the spine was changed to $7.98 with the new catalog number AB 6066. Title on cover henceforth printed in black.
1978: fourth state labels with new "3-D" logo. Some issues featured a new lacquer cut with only a STERLING stamp and no RL or other words.
1983: reissued with catalog number AL5-8158, STERLING lacquer cut.
1985: reissued with catalog number AL8-8362 and new purple and black label design, STERLING lacquer cut.
