wonderful piece of washed up shoegaze and synth pop coated in reverb and uplifting vocals. very cohesive, i found the pressing kind of soft/muddy but i feel that may have been intentional. the art direction here is exceptional, love the shade of pink on the record.

Very impressive album. Good sounding vinyl and a cool poster. 5 stars!

A friend told me about "Hit The Ground (Superman)" and a listen on YouTube persuaded me to get this album. I wasn't sure what to expect from a modern 4AD band as I always think of early Bauhaus whenever I think of the 4AD label. Even so, this album provides ten great songs and has ended up being one of my most played albums of recent years.

The Big Pink seem to have found their stride on this album. Every song is great, from the Laurie Anderson sampling "Hit The Ground (Superman)" to the introspective "77". This is Indie Rock that doesn't mind taking chances or baring its soul.
