Steeleye Span – Hark! The Village Wait

Thank you George Peckham. Wonderful cut of this classic album. If there's a better one, I'd sure like to know of it.

When I put on turntable this lp, from the 2 different Lowlands Of Holland version and both are just original first press mintish condition, it is a surprise, when I got there at the guitar solo, which version I listen to. :) :)

Sublime & understated electrified quasi-medieval English folk-rock w/ delicate hymnal (often a capella) vocals from Maddy Prior (the equal of Sandy Denny?) & an authentic compendium of traditional songs played w/ modern interpretations.
An enjoyable flawless collection.

The runout IDs shown for this release are unusually sparse. This may actually be the same release as Steeleye Span - Hark! The Village Wait if complete runout info could be collected from the disc.

I own a 2 different first press uk copies, all matrix an labels are the same, but in the 4th track on side 2 Lowlands Of Holland the guitar solo is completly different. Yes! :-)

One of the best debut albums
ever in folk rock.
"Hills Of Greenmore" is pure classic,
could be recorded yesterday.
And I love Maddy Prior's voice
so very much. (Even a bit more heart
warming than Sandy Denny, who is
fantastic, too.)
