King Crimson – In The Wake Of Poseidon

This is a very good pressing, significantly better than one early French repress which I owned.
Wish I could compare it to the very first UK...

Can someone explain me the differences between this version and https://www.discogs.com/release/14838022?
I got two copies of the album but they have a slightly different variant of the stamp on the Matrix / Runout. One copy even has scrached „FH XXX IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON KING CRIMSON“ on Side A.

Incredible sound quality. I heard <In the Court of the Crimson king> A2 B3 UK press, but this sounds better. Tasty and solid sound.

I was never able to buy an early copy - it was very expensive. I purchased this publication. and I don't regret it. not collectible. but the recording... is simply excellent. and the quality of the vinyl mass is 5 points. no clicks. And I bought it already open. Maybe they washed it before me. In general, I'm satisfied. but still, the first press warms the soul more.

Great heavy vinyl, nice textured sleeve, mediocre music.

Personal opinion right here: As well made as Rob Fripp's mastering is, this album is clearly King Crimson at their lowest point.
A side feels like the A side of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" revamped in a mediocre way (most songs are even in the same key). To me only "Cadence and Cascade" stands out here.
B side is even worse. "Cat Food" just feels super unfinished and "The Devil's Triangle" is basically just noodling around over the 5/4 rhythm of Gustav Holst "Mars, The Bringer of War".

It baffles me to read critics seriously say this album is produced better than "In The Court Of The Crimson King". Maybe they should listen again or get their ears cleaned. In my opinion, this album is the clear looser considering production. Just listen to how veiled Greg Lakes vocals sound in the title track.

If you're a fan of this album, it is a clear recommendation for this version as the whole package is done very well. However, to me it is the album of King Crimson which feels most unfocused and the only album in their classic discography you could very well skip over.

The title of Devil's Triangle says "inlcuding" lol

A very dynamic, enjoyable pressing. I've had no noisy vinyl issues. The quietest of moments aren't obscured by crackle in the slightest.

Meticulously silent and superior Sound quality compared to my 1st Ed Canadian Pressing, which is considered high quality.

Being influenced by negative opinions is very troublesome. They result from the configuration of the listening equipment. There is no curtain.
The sound of this remix is open and detailed with a low-reaching bass. The drums sound similar in the British original, but there is less selectivity of individual instruments. The sound is more aggressive and dynamic. I like both presentations. In my copy, there is a slight noise on side B, side A is quiet. I'm not surprised by what the remix sounds like, as it sounds similar to Willson's other works in King Crimson.

My inner sleeve is different from the one shown in the release photos: in my copy, the inner sleeve is an advertisement for the band's other CDs and vinyls in honor of the band's fiftieth anniversary.

Decent sounding pressing. The original masters for this lacked in a lot of areas.....especially the drums, but that's a lot of the early Crimso recordings. Remastering is limited by the original masters.
