Ingrams music can sound like a dry exercise in technical precision. But I like to consider it more as highly specialized, like a fine-tuned scientific experiment conducted by a skilled researcher.

In fact, Ingram is an expert in capturing the flair of disciplined curiousness and methodical exploration of a scientist at work. This kind of detached awe extends to the emotions he conveys: it's not euphoric or heartrending, but more intellectual in nature. It's not the joy of sudden "Eureka!" enlightenment, but of systematic insight. His music is always hectic and highly engaged, but never unfocused. And it always carries the spark of discovery.

That is why I think that he's best when he doesn't succumb to single-minded aggression, which he tends to do lately. "Aqua Team" is still his best record, because the melodies convey the depths of the unknown without being strictly dystopian or utopian. Rather, it creates a sense of impartial exploration by an open mind, and as such is actually great music to listen to while reading scientific papers or prepping experiments.

Stingray is not a musician, he is what it is closer to what a real human is.

It's All Connected is mind blowing, shame it's so fast, 156 bpm on -8.
