King Crimson – Beat

Maligned album, but undeservedly so. The Group are in top form as is to be expected. Is this as great as "Discipline," no. But it is better and more challenging than 99.9% percent of the new wave, alternative Shiite that was being pushed by the labels at the time. Adrian Belew brings the weird. and his angular chops complement Roberta Fripp perfectly. Do I need to talk about Rhythm section legends Tony Levin & Bill Bruford?
My Canadian OG pressing gives me no reason to buy a recent Remaster/Repress On 180 gram vinyl. 🇨🇦😎

If anyone ever reads this and can explain why the label says MADE IN ITALY, but also MADE IN ENGLAND? Please explain.

This one sounds very nice, better than my US version. Maybe because its MADE in England but SHIPPED to Scandinavia?

Incredible pressing soundwise. The best I have heard so far. You simply can't get any higher. Impossible.

No prog band acclimated to the 80's better than King Crimson. Their 80's albums stand the test of time. This and Three of a Perfect Pair are a testament to that. The somehow manage to skirt the 80's Pop cheese factor while still writing catchy, progy, chorus-driven rock. Thanks in no small part to the Adrian Belew!

Sounds excellent, great balance top and bottom end. Maybe a touch too much in the highs around 4000Hz, but my tweeters tend emphasis that rangea bit too much (Focal Beryllium tweets)

No seriously... all thes Panegyric heavyweight KC reissues have been SUPERB for me. At £17 this is reference quality.... thick, heavy, flat, silent and AMAZING remaster on top of it.

An excellent-sounding edition, one can definitely recommend it. Very crisp, smooth and clear sound.

This pressing sounds far better than the 30th anniversary CD. Production is fantastic on this album. The bass has good weight, rich tube guitar tones, and the drums really shine. The digital gives a half decent presentation of the killer production, but the vinyl blows it away.

It's hard for me to imagine the reissues sounding much better than this pressing.

Holy shit "Requiem" is such a burner. It's worth picking up the album for this track alone.
