Reviews
- Edited 11 years ago★★★★★☆ Great duo album, one of several by Atkins pairing him with various guitar pickers as Jerry Reed, Les Paul - and later - Mark Knopfler. Tongue in cheek, humourous playing and teasing is the formular, blending country, rag, blues and gypsy jazz elements into what is more a roots album than country. This 1974 album seems so standard setting for this kind of music that the later Chet Atkins / Mark Knopfler - Neck And Neck album made 15 years later seems so close that it's almost more of an update to this album than a new release. "I'll See You In My Dreams" is almost identically closing the two albums. However, both albums are very pleasant, with the Atkins & Knopfler album the most current of the two, but with this album as the more original and authentic.
