Ozzy Osbourne – The Ultimate Sin

My favorite Ozzie album! This pressing is so good! Love how Ozzie places the drums front and center on this album, far from washed out. Castillo's drums punch you in the face, especially on "Lightning Strikes", not one bad song for me that is, on this album. I have heard this is not Ozzie's favorite, not sure why. His vocals are spot on!

Apparently Ozzy doesn't much care for this album, but in my opinion, this is Ozzy at his best. It takes off from the opening drum beat. His voice is pleading and urgent the whole way through. It's steeped in the Satanic Panic and Cold War paranoia of its era. Jake E Lee is just ripping off monster riffs throughout. This one is a masterpiece.

Found a copy at my local record store. I have two dead mint copies of the Japanese press, and this blows them out of the water. As someone else mentioned, also much better than the box set version. They are all good, but this one is just better.

On my Project turntable this LP sounds stunning, and it happens to be my favourite Ozzy album.

Sounds excellent to my ear. Clear across the spectrum, no flaws. Bass are ok. Really good.

This CD sound quality wise, sounds killer. Mixed evenly, before any of the volume wars were even a inkling in the minds of the mastering houses. I first heard this album on CD when it came out in 1986 on a massive Pioneer component system with four 10” drivers and, damn, hearing this CD on a smaller, but fairly decent system just brought me right back to that pumping bass and soaring highs. I’m good with this copy, not sure I’ll be seeking out a vinyl copy anytime soon.

I originally bought this for Shot in the Dark, but in all honesty this is a great but understated album. The title track, Secret Loser and Thank God for the Bomb are also worth signing up for IMO. I eventually bought a copy of the LP - which I paid an arm and a leg for - but damn, does it sound amazing even though that record is flat as a pancake. In hindsight, I'm glad that Shot led me to obtain the entire album; I do see this as a buried gem.

This was my first vinyl ever purchased in 1986, as a kid obviously I didnt know really how to keep it clean and avoid scratches but just restored the jacket and art cover and gave it a good cleaning and wash and for my surprise it only skips a lil bit in 2 tracks!! Never gonna sell it or throw it away, brings me lots of memories from those wonderful days discovering new bands
