Back cover says "printed in USA" and it has the SD-7208 catalog number, but this is totally different looking than any officially released U.S. promotional copy on Atlantic Records, especially Led Zeppelin II.

Wow. The lack of the mix on side 2 kills this thing. it's a good pick if you can get it 40 or under but the mix on the first side spoils you so hard for that lackluster mix on side 2.

i bought this version recently and compared it to my german one sided RL pressing and this one here sounds awesome! the RL still is slightly better, most noticable on "whole lotta love" after the break and the guitar solo when the refrain kicks back in. here, this PF cut is a bit more compressed down to (i assume) prevent needle skipping on the oldschool systems back in the day. The RL cut at this point is a little more open and more 'in your face', but (i repeat): this PF version is REALLY good. Lightyears better, than the b side of my one sided RL, which is unlistenable crap. So if you cant find or/and afford a real RL cut, but want a really good sounding vintage pressing, go for this one here :-)

Finally got my hands on a copy for a decent price. If you desperately want this album and are holding out for vg+ or above, i’m tellllling you vg is all you need!
The copy I picked up is covered in scuffs and surface marks, I thought for
sure this thing was gonna be crackling and popping left and right but because it’s such loud music naturally, and cut hot, i don’t think i heard a single crackle unless it was during a very quite passage like the beginning of what it is and what should never be or between tracks.
do yourself a favor and find a good vg copy that doesn’t have deep scratches and you and your wallet won’t be disappointed!

I own this version but mine is a gatefold? Is this yet another variant?

I also have the same opinion as the people below me on this release. This is an absolute hidden in plain sight gem of a pressing. Bobby’s Vocals and Bonzo’s drums are crisp, the overall bass is punchy, just an overall very enjoyable listen and solid soundstage on this pressing, absolutely nothing like the muffled vocals/drums and muddied bass on some of the non RL cuts I’ve seen. If you don’t want to spend your spleen on an RL SS, definitely consider trying this press out for a crank.
Bonus: If I’m not wrong, apparently the also much lauded 200G Classic Records reissue uses the same mix as this one, according to the release page.

so, just sat down with a copy i paid 45 bucks for. does it crackle a bit? yes. does it matter? NO. this is an amazing mastering by any stanadard, and the fact that this blows away UHQR sound or whatever else you want to A/B it with is amazing. this is how zeppelin should have sounded on every album, this is the sound the deserved. now mind you, i have some OK equipment, nothing crazy, but for sure a few thousand all in for sure. so, i dunno, i have the SQX version from 2005 or whatever it is, super quiet bla bla. this blows that away, and i guess it's pretty trashed. i get why this is the holy grail, it should be. this finally shows us what we want to hear, what we need to hear. the current times suck to buy vinyl, thats for sure, glad i got in 30 years ago. but, if you can pony it up, spend the cash and get a players copy. i dont give a f about grammer, just want the sound, and this has got it. cheers

A very booming and messy copy of this record. One I favour over most. It’s simply the original Led Zeppelin sound you can get
