The Monkees – Greatest Hits

This does sound really good and benefits from the excellent mastering by Joe Reagoso. However, the presentation is drab and funereal. Not even a glossy cover. Friday Music could have spiffed up the presentation by brightening up the orange lettering on the jacket and making it a gatefold (as they did with their Paul Revere & the Raiders releases) with photos of the lads or other such ephemera but no, we get a big, fat zilch. At least the solid orange vinyl looks pretty and had they brightened up the cover art a little, it would match the record nicely. Bottom line: This release sounds great, but it is aesthetically uninspiring.

I have this exact pressing. Do any of you think that the tracks on this album sound speeded up just a little?

Does anyone have a picture of the paper sleeve that came with the release. It usually advertises other colgems releases.

The very first compilation album of the Monkees ever released. This only peaked at #89 on Billboard 200 in 1969 due to their waning popularity at the time. This is a great one and a rather sought after album too. If you're a Monkees fan and find a copy grab it.
