On his website Jon Kennedy says: - If I can hold the attention of a person for the five minutes or so that one of my tracks lasts, I am happy !. According to this rule I surely made Jon kennedy a very happy man, even though Demons last only a bit over 3 minutes. After perils with various record labels he has finally decided to launch his own label (JKF), and the first release is the Demons EP, out of which the described track was derived. The first impressions are: - the old good Jon Kennedys back. The track relates to the best Kennedys compositions from the albums Take My Drum To England or We're Just Waitin For You Now. It seems inconspicuos, but every time it is playing I catch myself on the fact that it caught my attention. Simple beat, traditional for Jon oriental sounding samples and inserts, nothing special - you would say. What makes it easy to tell Jon Kennedy apart from the thousands of other artists in this genre of music however, is the specific mood that his tunes have. In some magical way for the time the track lasts you seem to go to another world - in this case the world of demons, but the tame ones, not demons that would ensnare you and make you rip somebodys heart of or somethin of that kind. The only thing, that I personally regret is the fact that the ep is so diverse and does not let you stay in that mood for a long time. There are some various tracks out there, but it is still damn worth to check out the latest Jon Kennedys creation.
