He Is Legend – I Am Hollywood

Been listening to this album almost 20 years. This is the best I’ve heard it sound! Mixed better than the CD, bass comes through better, vocals are fuller, everything sounds well balanced. Didn’t clean the album and it played beautifully right out the basic white paper inner sleeve, played with a 2m blue cart.

As others have said, this sounds great for an early 2000s recording. I bump the bass a few notches, it’s not superb, but otherwise a better spin than the CD for sure. Just happy to finally have this on vinyl!

Does anybody know why my version of the album came with the dollar bill side of the booklet out? The brain side was folded into the inside. Wasn’t sure if this was manufactured error or on purpose.

At the time of this post there are 32 copies of this on vinyl available (in the US), and the cheapest one is $70. I've been wishing for this on vinyl forever, but I somehow completely missed it by a few months. And here, all 32(!) of these greedy ass gougers think they're holding onto gold. Fuck all of you.

My copy sounds outstanding. Dead quiet and flat. Seems pretty dynamic too, at least as much as their other albums on vinyl. So happy to have snagged a copy when Solid State put a few more back up for sale.

My copy has a lot of surface noise, really a shame because I was excited for the new master. Did they release a digital version of it anywhere?

This was one of my top wishes for releases to get a vinyl pressing and excited to finally have it in hand. Agreeing with a comment on the yellow variant that the sound is a little flat. Lacks bass and not super dynamic. The gold trim on the furnace fest version is a really nice touch though and shows some impressive attention to detail for a collector's item.

An absolutely killer Harcore/Southern/Metal rock album.
One of my personal favorite rock albums of all time.

The album is a fairly cohesive conceptual experience, with fast paced, Southern-Punkish tunes to slower metal ballads with wailing guitars to all out metal screamers. I can't think of a weak point from a musical composition perspective.

Bonus points also awarded to the CD cover and overall album artwork.
If you are buying, be aware that the front of the jewel is covered in a giant sticker (the gold artwork you see in the album cover pictures), so you may want to ensure it's in good condition before purchasing.

The only knock against it is the same knock almost every rock album from this era experienced - relatively flat, loud mixing. Given most rock albums suffer from this, I don't necessarily care.

Super excited to own this on vinyl, though sadly it does sound a bit flat.
