Notes
The fourth Led Zeppelin album released on November 8, 1971, intentionally left untitled, with no indication it was by Led Zeppelin on original release - although many have commonly referred to it as "Led Zeppelin IV", "Zoso", "Symbols" or other unofficial titles. On Discogs, the title of this release is "Untitled", unless specifically titled otherwise, i.e. "Led Zeppelin" or "IV" (as some later versions).
In the UK, there are at least eight known vinyl red/plum 7-digit Deluxe cat# versions. To help simplify Release Notes, it may be easier to add the Version Number as below (Plus any potential variants to that numbered Version):
1. Label: Version 1
Original issue, Grant credit & inverted feather logo on B-side
2. Label: Version 2
As Version 1, but with feather logo corrected on B-side.
3. Label: Version 3
As Version 1 misprinted inverted feather logo on B-side, but with two label over-stickers.
4. Label: Version 4
Grant credit erased by 2 label over-stickers to Version 2. One adding band name at top, the other adding publishers/producer at bottom.
5. Label: Version 5
Stickers replaced by printed credits for the Version 3 data. However, B-side has title wrongly as 'Misty Mountain Top'. "Under licence..." text also added below Atlantic logo.
6. Label: Version 6
As Version 5, but Yet the feather logo is again inverted on B-side.
7. Label: Version 7
B-side track corrected to 'Misty Mountain Hop' and yet the feather logo is again inverted on B-side.
8. Label: Version 8
As Version 5, but B-side track corrected to 'Misty Mountain Hop' and the feather logo on B-side corrected and is the right way up.
Furthermore: A 'Grant' text credit may still be extant on the grey liner of the Version 3 issues and onward.
(Kinney 'K' cat# prefixes then followed, on Atlantic orange/green labels)
According to CNN the 'Stick Man' is a colored copy of a black and white photograph called 'A Wiltshire Thatcher', taken by Ernest Howard Farmer in the 1890s. The thatcher in question is a man named Lot Long, who was 69 years old at the time Farmer took the photo.

Dynamite sound! And it’s got the pecko duck signature too.- An iconic album that barely needs an introduction — and this Japanese pressing treats it with the care it deserves. The gatefold packaging is beautifully printed, complete with an obi strip and Japanese liner notes insert, which add a distinct charm for collectors. The minimal artwork, with no title on the front or spine, remains as mysterious and timeless as ever — just as Page intended.
This 1976 Japanese reissue delivers crisp, well-balanced sound. The guitars are sharp without being harsh, Bonham’s drums are punchy and present, and Plant’s vocals come through clearly. It’s a smooth, dynamic listen from “Black Dog” to “When the Levee Breaks.”
A very respectable copy of a monumental record, housed in an edition that feels both unique and high-quality. Definitely a satisfying addition for anyone looking beyond standard pressings. referencing Untitled (LP, Album) N° 50.008
Got a very nice NM copy of this and its sounds really good. Clear heights and quite full bass. A bit weak on rock n roll, but a very recommendeable pressing!- Sounds just as good as the hi res losless streaming but more alive so cannot complain for the price point im sure it wouldnt compare to an og mint pressing but it sounded great for me
- This German pressing is 180 grams and it rocks. It is mastered from the original master tape and I assume AAA. it fixes some of the problems with Levee Breaks and overall sounds fantastic. No date anywhere so I’m not really sure when it was released but it kicks butt. Cover is ok, not great but it does have the original sleeve. I have a US Porky and I think this copy competes with it overall. It also fixes some of the distortion in Levee. It’s a winner!
- This pressing sounds great compared to the others I've owned, it does still have some IGD on STH and WTLB A4 and B4, but less than on other copies I've owned although I've heard this may be because my turntable is quite an entry level one and is worsening the distortion, but WTLB sounds unbearable towards the end, wondering if anyone can confirm that it is mostly due to my turntable as the copy I have is in great shape
- I'm not an Led Zep 4 expert, but this club edition sounds really good. Bass is excellent and the treble is not fatiguing. The last album where RP sounds like an absolute Beast!
- The PW pressing I got was a mis-pressed version. There were lots of fine lines all over the disc on both sides, and there was a lot of hiss noise, so there was no benefit to the Gp cutting.

Sounds great to me. My 'go-to' copy for this album. My only complaint is the cover - a tad granier than the original. - Edited 24 days agoThis 8a Plum label version sounds better than the 1st US Moarch pressing. There is better instrumental definition and a wider and more balanced soundstage,. Monarch pressing is very nice alone, but this pressing is superior in a head-to-head competition with both LPs being archive quality NM. Bass is more accentuated on Monarch pressing but high end has more definition on UK version. Overall, UK version is the winner of two very fine pressings.
