Fishbone – Truth And Soul

Got two copies, 144 and 445. First one was shipped with cover damaged. Sounds pretty good to me IMO. Certainly brings me back!

I have three (i think?) versions of truth and soul on the vinyl and, at least on first listen, i'm gonna say this is probably the nicest press I have heard, in usual pure MOV stylee. what does that even mean tho? did i treat my other copies poorly over time? i dunno probably lol. crispy sound tho.

This was an important album to me. Bummed that this edition censored out funky “ass” bass on track 7.

I still have my original vinyl copy [CBS 461173 1] of this that I bought when it first came out.
This is one of those albums from the late '80s that has stood the test of time.
Quite possibly due to the fact that it's non-genre specific and effortlessly flits from ska to funk to acoustic and back again, plus everything else in between. Either way, it's still a superb album.
They were absolutely on fire when playing live at this point in their career. I was lucky enough to catch them a handful of times on their UK tours. Unquestionably the most energetic band I've seen, to this day. Happy memories.

This must be a hit or miss pressing. Mine sounds great but I only have a CD to compare it.

Great pressing - very lifelike, present and dynamic. Lots of punch - listen loud. This album is an 80s classic - incredibly weird, fun, and wild. Mighty Long Way feels like it should be playing over the closing credits of some forgotten feel-good 80s comedy.

pretty poor quality pressing, sibilance is atrocious on 'Pouring rain'

This version really sounds like crap; it's distorted and really muddy. Very disappointing.
