Notes
Eric Clapton is the debut studio album by English rock musician Eric Clapton.
It was released in August 1970 by Rso Records and Polydor Records.
Clapton recorded some tracks in November 1969 at London's Olympic Studios and went on to record more songs in 1970 in two sessions; one in January 1970 at the Village Recorders Studio in West Los Angeles and a second session in March the same year at Island Studios in London. A large number of musicians that worked with Clapton on the album had been working with the band Delaney & Bonnie, which previously opened the Blind Faith (2) gigs. The musicians included the core of Derek & The Dominos, including co-creator and co-songwriter Bobby Whitlock, who can be heard on Let It Rain (August 1972).
Single release:
Track 4 After Midnight (1970)
Track 5 Easy Now (B-side from After Midnight (1970) & Let It Rain, 1972)
Track 6 Blues Power (1970)
Track 7 Bottle Of Red Wine (B-side from Blues Power, 1970)
Track 11 Let It Rain (1972)

- This record sounds like it was meant to be played in a car stereo, there is so much bass and absolutely no life. Vinyl is pretty quiet and comes in a high quality inner sleeve but i would encourage anyone that is thinking about purchasing this to get a vintage version instead. The only reason i own this is because it was on sale for $10. If i payed full price I would return it.

Glad to have this in my collection. It’s a great listen from beginning to finish. He sounds like he is having a blast recording this. My pressing sounds very good.- Just picked this up from an online auction site for 10 bucks. I'm super stoked. The box is solid, enjoyed the book that came with it and to my ears, the CD's sound good.
- Enjoyable debut from Clapton, with a killer intro instrumental appropriately titled "Slunky" and couple of genuinely lovely pop songs in "Easy Now" and "Lovin' You Lovin' Me". This pressing sounds good, but not great - though I think it's more to do with the production - the overall sound is a bit murky and muddy. My copy plays nice and clean, with barely a trace of surface noise.

My copy of this record has obvious imbalance between the left and right channel level. Other discs play fine on my setup, but this one has left channel much, much quieter than the right. Be interested if anyone else has the same issue, or if it's a combination of the disc and my setup.referencing Eric Clapton (CD, Album, Reissue) 31453 1819-2
MY COPY HAS A GOLDEN STICKER AT THE BACK COVER "THE ERIC CLAPTON REMASTERS..."- Good press of a great album. I believe this to be cut a tad hot, in a good way - no discernible distortion or sibilance can be heard, just a lot more forward and in-your-face when A/B’d to a digital file counterpart (which sounded quieter with more “air,” and a lot more distant). This press is a very enjoyable listen overall.
- I bought this box set after seeing some good results on the Steve Hoffman forums (from those who actually bought it). If I owned the 2006 deluxe set I probably wouldn't have ponied up the money for this. Here is what I like about the set. The booklet is pretty cool and has some neat info and pictures in it. Sadly there's no photographs from the original sessions (I believe it's a copyright dispute involving Barry Feinstein's estate). The discs are (in my opinion at least) mastered pretty good without any brickwalling or heavy compression. I ripped different mixes to audacity and viewed the files on CD as a wav. Very minimal limiting was applied to the CDs leaving a fair amount of dynamic range on all four CDs. The box the package came in is very rugged. Now I'm not gonna lie, but It would have been nice to include the promo mono mix in this set. Chances are the mono tapes may have been destroyed by the warehouse fire at universal in 2008, so who knows. Now here is what I dislike about the set. First and foremost the CDs rest in a cardboard diecut sleeve. I don't like that because it can be easier to scratch the CDs if the package gets shifted around. Luckily for me my CDs have no scratches that affect playability so we're good here (though some recommend rice paper CD sleeves). Next the price point. I got this for about $55 which is middle of the road. Amazon has this for about $45, while some places are going as high as $85, so be aware who you buy it from. Overall it's a pretty cool set, and would (at least in my opinion) make an awesome gift for the diehard Clapton fan in your life.
- Discovered a new varient with slightly different etchings & one difference on the label, with the Polydor logo & NY address on the bottom instead of RSO, like this release:
https://www.discogs.com/release/3081267-Eric-Clapton-Eric-Clapton
Other than that, it's exactly the same and is closer to this release here, etching wise.

Seeing as this is Mid-Price reissue, the sound is actually pretty good
