Lone (2) – Galaxy Garden

This needs a repress, but R&S doesn't seem to think so.

I bought a sealed copy of this on Discogs back in summer 2016. It was £20 and I remember asking the seller if he was open to any offers! What was I thinking 😅

An audio delight, with plenty of percussion and synths, some resonance and some sampled vocals etc... nothing revelatory, more like a soundtrack to an unfilm.

Keep on digging guys. Just found a sealed copy in Japan

Pretty much gave up ever owning this on vinyl, then a beautiful used copy shows up at my fave Chicago record store ❤️

After five years I'm still amazed by this album, in my heart it has become a classic

All about ''Wildfire Propeller''. What a tune!! Only in this Japanese edition.

Absolutely worth at least one listen. "Galaxy Garden" is about as organic as something digital can get, but boy does this record just feel.. alive! The rhythms and melodies might be a little off-putting at first, but there's a real pull in the sonic landscapes of these pieces, and they grow on you. Just let it happen.

"Galaxy Garden" is a solid album, it'll provide you with pleasant experience in almost any setting (club, home listening, background office music, joyride in a car, walking/jogging etc.), and it's a nice progression from "Emerald Fantasy Tracks", so way to go, Matt! But in my opinion, this is definitely not an outstanding record; average at best, and not very memorable. I can hardly imagine anyone seriously revisiting this record even in 5-6 years time span.
