Blaze takes control of St. Germain’s ROSE ROUGE for two deep house mixes: their “Shelter Long Mix,” which brings in some vibraphones to accompany Marlena Shaw’s vocals in a more spare version, and their “Early Shelter Mix” doesn’t deviate much from that. Still, neither can match the energy of the original, the rose that never fades.- it really really wants you to get together, this one

Back in the 2000s my very moany me was saying "why does St Germain have so much success?". I could not understand why precisely this album and this artist was everywhere and everyone loved it when there was other stuff that I found so similar at the time and way more satisfying (amalgamation of soundz, jazzanova, etc).
But "Rose Rouge" is still being dropped in 2018 and still works perfectly. So, dear Risingson of 2000, eat your thoughts.

Saint Germain - Rose Rouge a great deep house track that has a jazzy kind of feel with the live brass instruments that come in and out, the track just builds and builds with great percussion and one that really gets your head nodding. Top stuff :))- ernest ranglin, on montego bay spleen, provides a tremendous jazz dub guitar solo (this songs is all about him). a must hear for any fan of jazz guitar or dub
- This is a well shaped track, driving jazzy grooves, he is a great producer and is dedicated to the scene.
