Paul Simon – Still Crazy After All These Years

Amazing sounding LP indeed, seemingly pressed from The Mastering Lab's TML plates. Nice open & fidelious sound, with note-for-note bass & Paul Simon's voice 'right-there' ya dig? Hard to imagine a better sounding slab of hot-wax for this album to be honest...

This copy sounds great even I have not reference.

For some reason, I just don’t like this album I’ve never listened to it until this year and I don’t get it

The best sounding release of this album, ever. The Mobile Fidelity may have certain advantages, including pressing quality, but the overall sound of this is just gorgeous...and hits with such emotional depth, which is the most important thing in any record. I'm actually surprised no one here made note of this yet...it's one of two releases with mastering done at The Mastering Lab back in the day, the other existing on some British LPs. The British Mastering Lab version is good too via a transfer I heard of a track from it, but this Canadian LP sourced from lacquers done on the "M" lathe is the one. I wish it were pressed on better vinyl, but the mastering is fabulous. Whether Doug Sax or Mike Reese (or both) worked on it hasn't been noted, but whoever did it did it very well. Highly recommended.

This album sounds amazing, deep bass and pronounced mids and highs. Fantastic pressing!

Not a great pressing. Distorted at the higher ends. I've heard better copies. I'll be on the lookout for a better version

To My Ears This Sounds Incredible, The Original 1975 USA First Pressing Is Still A Good Deal Warmer Sonically And Has A Nicer Overall Tonality But The Finer Details And Deeper Layers Of The Instrumentation Really Are Showcased A Lot More On This CBS Mastersound Half Speed Mastered Pressing.

Sounds awesome! Was surprised that this was a repress and not an original pressing but could tell from the density of the record that it was heavier.

This clearly is my best edition of this album to include a promo which is also exceptional and has its merits, too. But, this one has the usual MOFI wide soundstage and clarity of individual instruments that you come to expect from them. Not thrilled that the vinyl sounds slightly noisy here and there. I see where others have washed is a number of times and it has gone away eventually. I am two washes in and it is hard to know if it is getting any better and might be simply what I have. The music clearly plays over anything except in very quiet spots or between songs. I think this should not be happening when you pay this much for this vinyl. But, I do love the sound. Is it worth it? If it is a desert island album then it is. It is a well recorded album to start with so it is not an essential to have for those who just want a copy.

I’ve owned so many pressings of this album it’s crazy lol. So many had a terrible sibilance with a really harsh crackle on the S sounds. This copy is absolutely the best I’ve heard besides the One-Step. I also have the one step, yes it is better, no it is not better enough for me to get up twice as often and break up the flow of the album. This RTI copy is my main listening copy. One-step is for special occasions only.
