Cannibal Corpse – Tomb Of The Mutilated

The sound on this is decent, not spacious, loud and not really defined, although i haven't heard an original pressing i don't imagine it sounding better than this.

I luckily got no skips but it still has some pops here and there and it sounds very quiet and sometimes distorted. I did get this one signed on the tour so at least I have a little bit of bragging rights.

Sounds staticky, a bunch of pops, my copy skips on Hammer Smashed Face. Overall pretty bad

Absolutely amazing press. Cover art, insert and poster are all printed to perfection. Speaking more of the poster, it is awesome and came with little creases upon opening. Record itself contains very minimal surface noise, I had cleaned it out of the box, as well as no skips or warps. Great pressing, sounds amazing, loud when it should be, quiet when it should be.

This pressing is terrible, starting skipping right at the very beginning and it never stopped the whole way through, surface noise, terrible audio quality.

"Tomb Of The Mutilated" is a quality mark in the world of (Brutal) Death Metal. This is not just an album, it is a certain standard in the system of "weights and measures" in the world of Death Metal. According to many of my friends, this is the best album in the Cannibal Corpse catalog. If you look at some stupid ratings like "top-666-most-brutal-albums", it will definitely be there. And yes, if some newcomer asks you for advice about listening, most likely your advice will consist of a certain number of must-have albums with the obligatory mention of "Tomb of Mutilated". These are the realities, a peak album at the peak of the genre of those years and real product of its time.

The reissue from NESI turned out to be expected cool and very high-quality:
The sound - there are no words, only emotions. It's as heavy and brutal as it should be.
The packaging - everything meets the highest standards from NESI. If you have at least one album from this label, you will understand what we are talking about.

I was able to compare this version with the European vinyl version from 2016 (of course, on the same setup with identical settings). In terms of sound, the press from NESI has more pronounced low frequencies. This album already sounds heavy as hell, now it knocks out even more. If in the regular version from Metal Blade the sound is more "transparent" and "readable", then in the version from NESI there is a feeling that the low frequency switch is already turned on on the aqualizer and turned to the maximum scale. It is quite possible that if you really increase the low frequencies while listening to the version from NESI, then your head will simply explode =) Die-hard fans will appreciate it. When comparing the sound on two records sequentially, it is impossible not to notice this distinction.

The design of the cover and inserts is much better in the version from NESI - more bright, contrasting and saturated. In theory, NESI, as the recipient of a license to publish materials owned by Metal Blade, should, based on the source, completely repeat the design, even if there are shortcomings. As well as on other releases from NESI, the band's logo and the album name have the effect of glow in the dark (in red, but very pale).

By and large, I really like both versions, but if you are not indifferent to Cannibal Corpse and in particular Tomb of Mutilated, this edition will be the jewel of the collection.

Can confirm, pressing is ass. Lost count of the amount of skips, and so much background noise as well. So disappointing.

Mine skipped twice on first track and then on third track on first play.
