this is a pretty good album through and through. gets kind of boring there in the middle but the last 5 tracks sure make up for it. would def recommend

Although I wanted to make a comment on this album long time ago, since the first time I listened to it, I was cautious because I wanted it to stand the test of time. And for me, it did. I think enough time has passed so I can now safely say this is one of the best albums of contemporary electronic music I've ever heard. Idea, arrangement, production, atmosphere, energy, again, as for me, it's all there and alltogether it makes a unique piece of art. This applies to each song individually, but especially to the album as a whole. If I had to make a recommendation to someone who would ask me "what is techno music?" I think one of the first answers would be this album. It stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the classics such as Craig's "Landcruising" or Larkin's "Azimuth", to name just a few.

The first 2 tracks float by with smooth arrangements and bubbling Organ sounds, reminding a bit TOO Much of those golden Detroit Techno Soul Days. It is SUB-01 that really grabs my attention : the HiHats make all the difference, the arrangement is much tighter and all ingredients fit together just fine; i just have to turn the Hi-Faders of my mixer to the max when these HiHats start !
The slow but interesting SATUR uses basically the same instruments as SUB-01 but lets the Bass Programming play the central role for the first time : Hand Claps over accented tight Organ Grooves make this another fascinating and interesting Tune...'GoBang' is another masterpiece that grabs your attention and sucks you in deeper and deeper into it's wicked Sound Design. This sounds truely alive...'For My Mr' is faster and develops more punch along the way. ROCKIT is another typical mid tempo Detroit Track while the Final VitJazzDepth brings a dramatic and slowly building jazz-atmo with melanncholic strings. This song tops all that came before with it's 'Pop Corn' Sounds (that Proto Techno Track from 1970 by Hot Butter) = Wicked + Wild ...nuff said ...En.Vi.Sion might sound like a Detroit Techno Album from the mid nineties at first, but soon you hear why it is a modern album that belongs in 2007. One of the best Techno Albums of this year so far ! Bram Sluiter aKa Quince always finds enough sounds to keep you interested. His strength are : masterful musical abilities on all instruments esp. the organ and his drum programmming. What sets him miles apart from the rest of the Techno Producers is hismasterful handling of the arrangements. Truely fascinating.
