One of the best punk rock albums ever. It opens kinda shaky with an admittedly dorky cover of Hound Dog, which makes you think they’re gonna do some weird rockabilly pastiche or something. But man is this thing just relentlessly ferocious. Has all the best aspects of hardcore, punk, garage, and just a little bit of Stooges swagger. Big influence on grunge, too (the Stooges stuff particularly inspired Mark Arm and Green River). Can’t praise this album enough, just absolute scorcher.

Looking for a copy of the Songbook if anyone has a copy for sale / trade?

Funny reading all the rave reviews about this record, yet no one wanted it (here in London) at the time & it would pop up on a regular basis for just a few £££'s, & it would just sit in the racks getting beat up.... so many records like that... Crazy!!!

Anyone know why they cut "Jim" from the album? My guess would be timing reasons.

This reissue is mastered from an LP copy, you can really tell during the quite parts (this album is and should always be loud AF when played). Packing wise this issue is great. The artwork layout on the back is slightly different but still contains the same wild photo of the band. The band write up on the inner sleeve detailing the history of the band is excellent. The show flyer is cool and the postcard also having the download code is a nice touch. No songbook reproduction is a downer though. Importing this one can be a problem but this album is still worth every penny.

This reissue sounds great and everything about it is right . A fuckin Great LP!
