an absolutely great album. features some of his best compositions and hits pretty much every base you'd ever want from a rivers cuomo/weezer release. note that it starts kind of slow, however. things pick up a little around track 4, and everything from track 11 on is gold.

the liner notes here are essential, giving a personal and insightful backstory to each song that covers every chapter of cuomo history up to that point from the lofi beach boys covers and heavy metal ripoffs to the beginning of the cowriting era that would follow after this release. the notes to this and the previous alone album are what really solidified me as a true fan and really give a great connection into rivers as an artist.
