Jimmy McGriff took a break from the music business for a few years in the early 70's, so Sonny Lester cobbled together this LP from a pair of sessions in 1966 and 1972. Highlights include "Tiki" and "Old Grand Dad", while "What's Goin' On" and the title track are greasy and funkified. No issues with this pressing, both sides sound fine, the 1972 material sounds especially good, with some very clear, deep bass lines prominent throughout. My copy plays nice and clean, with a trace of faint surface noise at times.
