Last week of June in 1970 Mr. C stepped on the stage of the showroom at the BRAND NEW International Hotel and Casino in Sin City...The hotel had just opened and was the "red hot" place to be for an entertainer...He shared that stage with Elvis and other top performers...Perry Como had a major hit show on NBC for years but this was the first time he entertained in public for twenty-five years...And he still had plenty in the tank as he delivered this LIVE album with plenty of style, grace, and great singing...The house band (they had them at all the major hotels back then) was cookin' and tearing up the charts for Mr. C...Also on stage with Perry were the Doddletown Pipers, a singing group that had been around since the Big Band era...Showstopper was "Without A Song" with the group backing up Perry with a major rousing attack on this classic tune...Much like Sinatra, Como had stunning enunciation and you hear every lyric crystal clear...A super male vocalist pro...This was his 18th album...It is Perry Como at The International...and that was a very good place to be in June of 1970...
