I had this on cd back in the day and wore it out with how many times I listened to it. An awesome solo effort by Vai.

"Limited edition", Anyone have an indication as to how limited this actually is? 5.000 pieces? I have no idea.

Why are the pictures of a CD on this release?

The mastering on this reissue made by Alan Tucker not Bernie Grundman like the original and although not bad yet it sounds thin and compressed to my ears.I had the same feeling with the Sony CD reissue when it came out.I have the first US and UK pressings on vinyl,they both sound great with more dynamics and leaves more air to the instruments individually.Original CDs are great too.I believe the recent Music On Vinyl reissue uses the same mastering of Sony Legacy.

I'm a fan of Steve Vai for years and I started listening to his music using CDs, 20 years after I wanted to taste the analog productions of the artist as he says himself that analog sounding can't let you indifferent. I perfectly agree, and starting with Passion and Warfare considered as a major piece of instrumental style it could not be better.
This cassette reveals unexpected experience for me as a fan and for songs that I heard so many times I was still able to discover small parts of unheard music and effects.
Definitely I'll move on other analog productions.

Steve Vai given its drive for 1990, available only with the supercharged Ibanez Universe Multi Color that'll eventually appear in a unique state of tune.
Vai uses the same technology as Malmsteen & Satriani, the parts of which were conceived under the watchful eyes of Engineer – Pascal Fillet. And the results are similarly phenomenal.
The album's lack of vocal hit-songs gives a lithe, cool edge to its mostly instrumental character. And probably a few furrowed brows at sleazerockers as well as melodic rock fans, whose heroes Slash & Steve Lukather isn't quite as compelling as Steve's 100 per cent fingering-drive bias when it's warm enough to have some fun.

So, we got yet another version of this, which was already available on several different vinyl versions. Instead, "Fire Garden" is still only available on Cd. When do you think MOV will notice?
