Led Zeppelin – Coda

Found this original Canadian in excellent shape, looks barely played. I also have the 2015 reissue and compared to that this is more raw and dynamic, more bass, more everything. Not a world of difference for this type of album that is a collection of different recordings from different time periods, but if you value the energy and dynamics from analog pressings, it should be easy to find an original like this.

A somewhat meh release of leftovers, short, only about 33 min, Poor Tom, Ozone Baby, Darlene, and Wearing and Tearing were interesting to hear being unused songs from III and ITTOD. There are lots of originals in the bargain bins, I just got an original Canadian, that definitely has more dynamics and bass, but this 2015 remaster sounds just fine to me as well for this type of album. Get the deluxe if you want some better interesting rare songs.

Terrific album! I pulled this record out from my high school collection after watching a YouTube video on LZ, and the reference to Page's vocal intro on I Can't Quit You Baby. But the album also highlights a few Page solos and Bonzo's brilliance on Poor Tom and Bonzo's Montreux. I was also surprised how many songs I knew/remembered, as many of these received radio airplay. If you're a LZ fan, I think you'll find a lot love on this album.

I saw some beautiful and expensive Mint sealed copies listed here. Just want to warn you about my story...

A friend of mine picked-up for me a so called "Mint sealed" copy of a Japanese press in Paris (France) from a store which is listing here and many others "Mint sealed" nice records.

My friend is not a collector/expert and despite the shrink had been opened and the record checked, he didn't see the very light hairlines and spindle marks difficult to see at day light.

The record is more or less NM all around and an insert was missing. It costed me probably twice the price I should have been paying for. It's not bad grading, it's simply robbery.

So, be careful, famous old records still sealed are pretty rare on the market. Only real collectors and very serious stores like some I'm in touch with in Japan and the US can be trusted. And unfortunately more and more robbers like that shop in Paris are re-sealing records to make more money faster. I gave it a try. Too bad for me. A second try is not necessary, just don't buy anything from that guy.

Wearing and Tearing, Walter's Walk and Ozone Baby would have made IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR a real swan song!

discs 2 and three are pretty cool unreleased bonus material/outtakes , especially disc 3 .

Club Editions can be hit or miss. I've had some good luck before... and the good luck is here with this one. Nice thick mix. Bass is really good. Everything is balanced. Nothing is blown out. I'm quite happy with this.
