Notes
The debut album of Florida-based death metal band Morbid Angel. It was released on May 12, 1989 through Combat Records/Earache Records. The album was recorded in December 1988 at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida. The album is one of the earliest examples of death metal and is considered to have helped pioneer the sound along with Possessed's Seven Churches in 1985 and Death's Scream Bloody Gore in 1987, and set a new precedent for heaviness and extremity, both musically and lyrically. It is one of the most celebrated albums in death metal history, and one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time. The overtly Satanic and occult lyrical themes were a significant influence on the early Norwegian black metal scene.

Production faiblarde qui a cruellement noyé cet album , qui aurait pu être un chef d'oeuvre ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝟕,𝟓/𝟏𝟎

The one that started it all. The cd version comes with a bonus track lord of all fevers and plagues. This vinyl version is killer though. I think it sounds much better than the cd version.

Giving is the best gift you can receive. Here is the perfect example if you are into metal. The perfect Christmas gift for your parents or grandparents. I can just picture everyone sitting at the dinner table. Dad just carved the turkey and then goes to put on the CD for nice Christmas music. Instead of hearing the expected "Little Drummer Boy" the stereo pumps out "Immortal Rites". Keeping in the Christmas spirit how about "Lord Of All Fevers And Plague". This is a gift that will never be forgotten and sure to replace "Deck the Halls" every following Christmas.
You should always try to achieve the best. If you are going to make a mistake make sure it is a big one. Oops. Wish I had this CD.

The album for its time and place is the embodiment of cruelty in music. There is a slight "raw" in the sound, but the arrangements already give out the same Morbid Angel with twisted riffs and crazy solos. The album was obviously created under the great influence of Thrash metal, but it only benefits him, along with the makings of Death Metal, the mix came out truly explosive. Altars Of Madness became the album that deservedly entered the history of the genre and can rightly be called a "guedebook" in the world Death Metal. This record has brought up and instilled good taste in several generations of metalheads.
The FDR reissue from Earache really pleased with the nature of the sound. The sound itself, which is typical for FDR, turned out to be quiet, but this contributes to a more delicate listening. "Altars..." became a chamber album in FDR. Vinyl sounds clean. The quality of printing is generally normal, but it must be understood that Earache is an "economical option" regardless of the status of the signed band. Even if we are talking about Morbid Angel!

This pressing is chaotically amazing! Not a single distortion or clipping. Very silent on the surface noise. Instrument separation was place perfectly cause the instruments was everywhere! The dynamics are absolutely terrifying, you feel every inch of it.
A absolute must have!

Sounds so fine. I prefer it over the FDR-Remastered-CD anytime. Mine has only very slight inner groove distortion, so might differ from pressing to pressing.

What a wonderful pressing! I paid a little more for this specific release than the other reissues since this had my favorite track, fevers and plague, added onto it. Audio sounds like the full dynamic pressings Earache has been releasing lately but I could be wrong, nevertheless, the audio is absolutely phenomenal!

Was Lord of all Fevers and Plague not included originally on the album? The tracklisting seems to change depending on the releases. Weird, definitely one of the best tracks on the album.
