Flat, quiet vinyl. Enormous soundstage. Great detail. I have owned this on CD since I was a teenager and I heard things on this vinyl that I have not noticed before. The band really makes use of dramatic pauses and silence is a big part of their music, so the quiet pressing is key. You hear all Morrison's little whispers and mutterings. It must be said that this is not audiophile sound. That is not intended as a slam on the folks who made this great pressing, but just a general statement about the original recording. You don't get tremendous pop and sizzle off the percussion. The placement of the instruments is a little confused, with things popping up on the left and then later appearing on the right, but a few hits off the vape pen and you won't mind anymore.

Sounds great, worth every penny. This was the first one I bought in this series and it made such a strong impression that I plan on buying the whole series. My only problem is which one to buy next?

I absolutely adore these AP 45s for The Doors albums, they're pricey, but I've never come away feeling I've overpaid, and for such important albums, it's a no brainer. Incredible series, would recommend them all.

This pressing sounds absolutely great. Very warm and alive. Nothing more to say.

My copy is the record with the right rim text & "Manufactured in Germany" stamped in the runout,
but the back has NO "Printed in U.S.A." but "PRINTED IN GERMANY IMPRIME EN ALLEMAGNE IMPRESO EN ALEMANIA" in one row which looks exactly like in the picture! In my opinion this is a 68 pressing with the deep rim!

Purchased my copy from Guitar Center for $18 and it sounds tremendous. CD quiet with no pops. Not a tick. Wide soundstage with proper instrumentation in their proper places. The bass is nice and deep but over powering. Manzarek's organ and keyboard chops are perfectly balanced. Krieger's guitar is warm. Densmore's drums are well balanced and solid. The Leslie spinning speaker dances with some really cool effects. "My Wild Love " is a 3D laser light show. Not knowing if I'll spend the money on the 2020 AP version. This one sounds so good.

I really like the new stereo mixes. I suggest grabbing this one in addition to the original if you like this album, as these mixes are not available in streaming (at least not in Apple Music).

In my opinion great sounding pressing, clear and punchy! I picked up a mint copy of Discogs a while ago and I'm happy with it.

Suggested! I love these mixes, shine a lot i comparison to the original pressings.

“Waiting For The Sun,” the third studio album by the American rock band The Doors, was released in 1968 and represents an important phase in the band’s musical evolution. Musically, the album offers a mix of rock, psychedelia, and some hints of folk, underscoring the band’s diversified style. Songs like “Hello, I Love You” and “The Unknown Soldier” have found both commercial and critical acclaim.

The vinyl edition of the album is of very good, albeit not perfect, quality. The sound quality on vinyl is generally warm and dynamic, highlighting the analog character of the music. However, the pressing quality can be somewhat inconsistent, resulting in occasional crackling or slight distortions. It appears that the master tapes from which the vinyl version was produced were not perfectly preserved, leading to minor imperfections in the audio quality.

Overall, “Waiting For The Sun” is an album that serves as an important milestone for both fans of the band and lovers of classic rock. The vinyl edition offers an appealing reproduction of this musical landmark, although it is not entirely free from technical flaws.
