A decent pressing. Some pops here and there but compared to today’s pressings this is fantastic. Classic record

Pity you did not link the monarch test pressing, as I could not find it in the whole bunch.

Ganhei esse aqui de presente de um amigo. Pedi pra ele escrever uma dedicatória no gatefold, e agora esse disco vale além de valor monetário. Quanto à prensagem, é muito boa, o som é ótimo assim como a impressão da capa gatefold. Adoro a virada entre a faixa A4 e A5, no vinil fica melhor ainda.

I received this one as a gift from a friend. I asked him to write a dedication inside the gatefold, and now this album is worth more than just its monetary value. As for the pressing, it is very good, the sound is great as is the printing of the gatefold cover. I love the transition between the A4 and A5 range, on vinyl it looks even better.

Yep, this sounds fantastic... but then again, so does my 2009 Rhino repress. The reason I bought this was because I couldn't live with the Rhino artwork which has the colours washed out both front and back plus the classic gatefold pic with the boys at the bar was dubious as well. I thought the image could be sharper. Was it a lazy scan.?? So, I thought WTF, I'll check out this 50th anniversary edition and it certainly rectifies the aesthetics. The colour problem is no more and now I have blacks back in the picture instead of greys. Also, the colours are richer. So, we get a nice 12 x 12 booklet with pics and info BUT the original cover pics are now 10" x 10" because of the border, and there is no sign of the original gatefold pic anywhere in this presentation. This is not a complaint, merely an observation for the curious. I will end up keeping my Rhino copy as well just for the original presentation... washed out as it is. After all, this is one of my all-time favourite albums. Unlike the "L.A. Woman" 50th anniversary cover which had a black on gold foil cover pic as opposed to the original black on yellow (which is faithfully reproduced on the cover of the booklet, so we don't miss out), there are no such fancy-schmancy trappings here. It's a handsome item. A joy to have and to hold... but we sure could have done with that classic gatefold pic.

The pressing is awesome. The vinyl sounds fantastic. What bogs me off is the cover art. Mine seems all washed out and a little soft focus. I kind of remember the original colours being richer and the image sharper. The blacks here look grey, and the cover looks sun-bleached. Is it a bad scan? I don't know... but the vinyl does sound brilliant.

This edition suffers from digital clicks and digital noise, even on the replacement CD that Audio Fidelity offered. I think a better investment would be the Doug Sax remaster from the Analogue Productions SACD, the 1999 Bernie Grundman remaster is also great and it is HDCD encoded, the 50th Anniversary remaster is also a good choice as it benefits from the Plangent Process, the 2012 remaster from HDtracks on The Complete Studio Albums is excellent too.
Around the time that Audio Fidelity released this reissue there were several quality control problems on many of their releases. There should have been supervision for these reissues to prevent such problems.

No entiendo los que se quejan del sonido de este álbum. Se escucha de una manera increíble y el disco está muy bien prensado, no hace sonidos distractivos y es impecable la remasterizacion Estéreo del 40 aniversario. Vale comprarlo a buen precio. Discazo!
