I think the 'alternative versions' issue was quietly substituted for the original release at the same time as the other 2 songs from that session (Life c/w Love Lies Limp) were finally made available in November 1978

In 1977 this was the best 4-minute crack you could get. 'How Much Longer's listings of teen irritants may sound dated now whilst 'You Bastard' is pure rant that was never destined for Radio play. Perhaps the best ATV line-up of Perry, Chris Bennett, Alex Fergusson and Tyrone Thomas. Note: the LP propping up the Dansette on the cover photo is 1968’s 'Outrageous' by Kim Fowley
