- This is a superb sounding pressing; 'And I Love Her' on The RTR Turntable today is awesome with an incredible vocal.
- Excellent sounding record. Tracks added like the German version of I Wanna Hold Your Hand varies and you can hear it’s recorded in another session. Otherwise beautifully recorded. Love it.
- This Capitol purple label sounds pretty good. I’ve heard good things about the pressings from this period. I decided to listen to my White album on while vinyl and thought it sounded as good ( if not better ) than any other
- Edited 4 months agoNow normally I prefer The Beatles in mono, but what we have here is a superb stereo pressing that surpasses the mono equivalents of the track list of “Something New.” Most of the earlier Beatles songs on Capitol stereo sound terrible: awkward balance, crazy reverb, etc. Speaking only for the Los Angeles stereo pressing that I own, which is a solid VG+, the balance is full and LOUD. No distracting echoes. Just an absolute perfect stereo pressing. I’ve never heard these Beatles songs sound this good.

Not very impressed with the listing on Discogs. This mono version says 1964 but the picture comes with a 1966 inner sleeve. If the matrix numbers match up with a 1964 pressing then those sleeves should not be pictured with this record. Someone would have put the 64 record in it so to have a capitol sleeve. If they are the correct sleeves then the record in the pictures should be a 1966 repress. This is not the first time I have noticed stuff like this on here. Not enough quality control with the info entered.- Great sounding release. Sounds a little --a little- better than my orange label Capitol version- this one was a tough one to locate...but def a great album. If you grew up with the US albums this is a good one to get. The sound is very balanced with good highs and lows and mids.
- The sleeves with the 2 on them house the same vinyl as it has exactly the same runout details. This is a 1966 repress as it is housed in a 1966 advertising inner.
- Sounds great -- This pressing was made from tapes sourced directly from Abbey Road. Even though it's a German version of an American album, it doesn't use the echoey and low-generation American tapes. Just like UK album with with the American content. A lot of fun, and better than the Capitol pressings of the same album.
