I still can't determine if this or Kamaal the Abstract is my favorite Tip album, but I'd probably give the edge to this. Just fresh, thoughtful mature hip hop from one of its most imaginative and forward-thinking luminaries. All killer, no filler, and very cohesive.

The 2008 US Universal Motown pressing of this album is outstanding. Very clean, dynamic sound. Sounds a tad better than the CD version, which sounds nice too.

One of the best hip hop cds period, still listen to this regularly and its 2018! This is one of those albums that you don't have to skip no songs. Its very well put together and a creation of musical art. This deserved to be album of that year but you know how watered down corporations has made real hip hop, sad for this masterpiece.

One of the, if not the best Hip Hop albums of all time! I dare to even compare it to All Eyez on Me, which is really hard for me to do. This is one of those albums that pulls people from other genre's in when you listen to it. Every track is great. A must own for any Hip Hop fan.

The USA LP version sounds great also.

Who had guessed that Q-Tip after his mainstream, but nevertheless great Amplified-Album, his experimental and unreleased stuff could go back to the good ATCQ times and present an album, which is perfectly drafted out of native tongue lyrics, his well known voice together with organic, jazzy and funky sound. Me not, but the bigger the surprise was. Q-Tip delivers classic Hip Hop which will never sound outdated. It works in the club as well at home on our sofa. Respect!

Finally, The Renaissance has arrived, and it has definatley worth the long, long wait. This album has finally restored my faith in hip-hop music, plus the excellent production from the late, great J-Dilla (RIP), and of course from Q-tip himself, help make this album a winner.

This album is not for those, who are looking for crunk-y club stuff, but for those, who just want to chill to the jazzy, soulful vibes, and of course, the mellow mc-ing of Q-tip himself, totally free of all that violent, sexist crap that plagues mainstream rap.

I would also reccomend Q-tip's unreleased "Kamaal The Abstract" album, which is incredibly original and awesome, but that is more Jazz-Rock-Funk-Soul-Fusion, than Jazzy-Soulful-Hip-Hop.
