La Futura is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band ZZ Top, released on September 8, 2012. It is the band's first album in nine years, following Mescalero, and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard "Top Rock Albums" chart. La Futura is also the last studio album released in bassist Dusty Hill's lifetime.

Let me start with the good news. It's a quality package with the artwork and heavy vinyl, maybe close to 200 grams. My lps were flat and clean from defects and the 45 rpm gives you great fidelity. But.........the songs here just aren't that memorable. It's mostly a slow bluesy type of record that sounds like it came from a tired old band which at this point this is what they are. ZZ Top had a great run of lps through about 1994's Antenna but since then have slowly dwindled. It's time for retirement especially since they've now lost a founding member.

Just picked up this son of a bi*ch for $15 at a local record store. It was $15 because it comes with a distasteful scent. That does not bother me. Sounds great!

Just bought a used copy in a local record shop for 39 bucks Canadian (29 USD). Looks close to mint and plays the same way on my system. Guess some folks got bad copies because mine has none of the flaws noted here by others. Sounds great.

The ugliest looking new pressing I've ever seen! Noisy and off-center but fortunately it plays somewhat better than it looks. Were it not for my very high-end Oracle/Graham vinyl rig with it's Benz LP-S line-contact MC which sits down deep in the groove, that might not be the case.

Hmm, I am starting to be suspicious that there are just haters for some reason or people who had really shitty sound system. This pressing is absolutely wonderful. Quiet and outstanding sound quality. Again I do not understand what I read under some pressings

United Record Pressing = GARBAGE All kinds of pressing defects. Warped, scratches, skuffs, dings, ticks, pops, off center... They have no idea how to properly press vinyl LP's. Doesn't get any worse now that RAINBO is gone. Hopefully UNITED is gone soon too!

Looking forward to a repressing by a legitimate pressing plant like Pallas, RTI, QRP...

I weighed my copy of this, the discs each weigh 235 grams. Pressed slightly off-center and weird, filthy marks on it courtesy of URP, but I'm pressing sure this is the heaviest album I own now.
