Herbie Hancock – Mr. Hands

Cada disco de Herbie Hancock es un misterio irresoluble en una nueva dirección, siempre cargado con momentos deslumbrantes y momentos desconcertantes. El músico más fascinante que conocí recientemente.

Este disco en concreto es uno de mis favoritos (de momento) en cuanto a los instrumentos y sonido empleados. Diría que Thrust y este son mis favoritos. El bajo de Jaco Pastorius en los últimos segundos de 4AM en este disco es impagable. Lo único malo es que se hace muy corto.

Lacquer cortado por la gran Marta Alvear. No pude compararlo con el corte original US, pero a priori estoy contento con esta edición. Probablemente no tiene toda la "warmness" y fuerza de graves de las ediciones originales US que puede tener un disco Funk como este, pero está muy bien equilibrado, con dinámicas bien definidas. El sonido del bajo tiene toda la presencia que necesita sin eclipsar lo demás.

Just got my copy of this great album (I'm surprised I didn't discover it earlier, never heard of it before...). This 1st EU pressing is top notch, great sound. BTW, anybody else thinks this cover art is very sexual ? I like that surrealism style.

The labels match but mine isn’t a Pitman WLP. It’s a Terre Haute. I’m guessing it needs a new entry.

I really like 70/80s Herbie's music. I found this copy and it is very good. So good. If you see this copy for a reasonable price, take it. Very clean sound, good bass and no pops. I might not very good selling it, but I think it became my favorite one (after Thrust, maybe)!

Not only did I luck out by finding it in a local record store for way less than what others are selling it for on here, but an absolute amazing pressing and so well done and mastered. Win-win!

This was my first VMP purchase and it sucked me in. Absolutely stunning pressing of an essential album.

It's a very interesting sounding record - from the synths sounds on the first tracks to abstract-feeling jazz funk toward the end
and absolutely brilliantly released album ...

Beautiful pressing inside and out! An art insert like many VMP release would have been way better than the "listening notes" (actually, anything would have been) but hey....it's all about the music, right?! Get it!

Brilliant jazz/fusion album from Herbie; a stellar lineup of musicians featuring the entire 'Headhunters' band, Jaco Pastorius, Ron Carter & Sheila E. Apparently Gilles Petersons favourite Herbie LP. This UK press also sounds great, with a superb soundstage.

Great googly moogly this thing is good. Buy with confidence.
