- Edited 5 years agoDrexciya - Intensified Magnetron.... Rephlex ... P.s what synth was used for that melancholy line.... So orchestral so . . . .
- Aquatic Bata Particles appears as Aquatic Data Particles on The Quest compilation so it's safe to say this is probably a misprint
- You can hear the influence of early L.A.M. tracks in 'Intensified Magnetron' and 'Hydro Cubes'. Hard edged electro-techno on this 12". Classic and a must have!
- "Aquatic Bata Particles" got regular play on Detroit radio mix shows by booty / street jocks when almost no other new detroit music was. this record also has hidden messages between and after the songs, such as pondering if god is virtual reality.
- Edited 17 years agoWicked release in the early days of Rephlex, it is a testament to Rephlexs' relentless search for the most brilliant future music. It is a little harder sounding than bubble metropolis but equally funky and impossible to ignore.
Drexiya are a Detroit staple and I remember people at Record Time in Michigan getting upset that this release and a few that followed came out on UK labels.
Track this down if you can find it in a used shop. Remember Underground Resistance's message - Music for those who know - Punishment for those who don't.
