ZZ Top – Eliminator

Yeah, I don't know about some of these reissues. Some of the Start Your Ear Off Right releases seem to have more care put into them, remastering etc. This and the B-52's Whammy! just seem like vanilla transfers of existing (no doubt digital) masters.
Not awful but there is a bit of surface noise at the end of side A and on side B.
I really had to adjust the bass and treble on my EQ to get this to my liking, it was a bit flat.
There's something to be said for picking up a clean original pressing that might sound better but I'm happy to have this new gold version for a reasonable price.

My copy is perfectly flat without any pops. The mix on this one sounds really great, and much better IMO than https://www.discogs.com/release/16033351-ZZ-Top-Eliminator (which is a bit flat and muddied).

The 4th of my SYEOR 2023 purchases. Cleaned it all I could and, yes, there is surface noise. But my copy has no skips at all. A little crunchy at times but I still find it listenable. Color looks very cool.

Gema Biem pressing, sounds beautiful. The sound is fresh and crisp.

This Europian (German) Gema edition sounds excelent. The sound is open, warm and crisp.

Received my copy in the mail today of the 40th Anniversary Gold pressing. SQ is good, but it is a noisier copy than I’d prefer. Especially on side B. Anyone else experience this?

Just got a copy from Walmart. My copy says Made In Italy on the back cover however. It sounds killer. I was 14 when this album came out and have heard it a million times, but never this good. This pressing does justice to the album, highly recommended..edit to add that my copy is perfectly flat and has hardly any surface noise, the yellow is really pretty to boot

This release sounded fantastic with hard driving bass. Excellent pressing.

Mixed just like it was heavy around 500 hz hut a killer sound regardless 18 dollars is worth it
