Spyro Gyra ‎– Stories Without Words

Worth owning just for Del Corazon a low key ballad that is sensuous and poignant albeit one of the lower energy pieces from the genesis but picks up half way thru with the atypical sax keyboard work one would expect from mid period SG.
After Alternating Currents SG sort of starting becoming very commercial and yes they where commercial but always had a quite a few tunes that where more progressive/fusion bent in their early years.
This in my opinion was the last Gyra album worth owning as I did not find later releases remotely interesting and bogged down with fuzak laden grooves ala Kenny G and Najee. The band did an unjust about face to appease the mainstream saccharine jazz radio stations forgetting their roots in funk and keyboard solo'ed goodness that made them quite a listenable experience to may of us( their debut had some real gems aside from the commercial Shaker Song which even today is better than the pap they release!).
