What an amazing album and an amazing pressing!! Love it!!

There is a loop on side A in the second part on my copy. I had 2 various items with the same problem on the same pace. Probably grooves error by pressing, they touch each other.

I bought my copy soon after it was released. It is free of surface noise and sounds fantastic.

I guess the title above has reissue in the title because of the censored cover. It is a first pressing with alternate artwork.

Don't know about you, but I like this "censored" cover better than the black box version. I remember when my family first got cable internet in 2001 and I couldn't resist looking at all the Floyd and Floyd-related records from around the world and drooling at the sights of them. Of course, my tastes have since branched out, but Pink Floyd are still up there with me. And as long as it's on my mind, I'm just glad the picture sleeve to Queen's "Bicycle Race" at least didn't get a black box.

One of those albums to sit chill and relax too. Roger Waters is truly a musical genius.

If you like Pink Floyd - this is similar in many ways to albums like 'The Final Cut' & 'The Wall' w/very pronounced sound FX - orchestrations utilizing REAL orchestras & choirs. There are many changes in mood, long and short parts of louder rock to very sparse - intimate parts with strained voice in acoustic or orchestral passages incorporating a myriad of instruments and voices. Very introspective parts & where musicians - guitars, sax - stretch out for solo's - a nice jam band feel at times reminiscent to earlier fusions styles.

What can be said about this piece of work by the master...you either love it or you hate it.

Well i have wanted this copy since 1984,i saw this tour in Toronto with Clapton and have been a fan since then.
on to this pressing, there has been a debate as to the sound of the cd vs vinyl on this for decades, now there is a japan copy of this that i had years ago that i thought compared to the cd version as this was mastered digital, now you might say that if this master sound pressing is a digital source then what could listening to it on an analog tube audiophile system bring to the table, and as i have just received a mint copy and only listened to side 1 i can say A LOT!!!, there is a warmer feel to this pressing, Davids sax is floating in the air, it just hangs there, rogers voice or voices come from like another room, Andys drumming is full, and Claptons acoustic guitar is aromatic, now I've heard this album many many times since 1984 and this is hands down the one to get if you want to drift off in the dream state with Roger on this incredible dream adventure.

How's the quality of the press on this? I see it's a Pitman Pressing which is the same as my Final Cut which is stunning.
