Lilys – A Brief History Of Amazing Letdowns

The original 10" vinyl sounds 10x better than this if you can track one down, it's worth the $$ if you love this EP. It does not have the last five extra tracks on this release (which are now available on streaming), but it does have the track "Glosseder" which does not appear anywhere else.

Frustrating release. Obviously a lot of work went into compiling all the tracks and mastering them, but the pressing itself could be much better. AFAIK this was made by Furnace Record Pressing and ALL FOUR copies I tried were significantly off-center, with side 2 being the worst. It's like these plants don't care anymore since they can't even bother centering the stampers properly before doing a run. Makes me want to stop buying new vinyl.

Update: I've given up on this pressing completely. Odds are the entire run or a large batch is like this. Not good.

Reissue worth it for the previously unreleased "G Cobalt Franklin" alone, what a track!

I'm delighted to finally have A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns on vinyl, and the b-side is a nice bonus, but I just compared it to the original release (split with Aspera Ad Astra) and this version has a lot less treble and high midrange to my ears.

Anyone else wish they'd just reissued the 10" rather than hacking it about and adding the 4 songs from the EP to the B side? It's not like they had to make it different to sell another variation. There's enough demand for the original LP and track listing.

FYI: We wanted to update everyone who pre-ordered a copy of Lilys' A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns from Frontier through Bandcamp.
Unfortunately, our shipment got delayed in the Groundhog Day Nor'easter. As a result, we will not be able to make our expected 02/12/21 ship date. Current tracking information indicates 02/18/21 as the new magical delivery day.

First edition of 2021 repress on Frontier is on pink wax (500) rest will be/are black.
