Butthole Surfers – Independent Worm Saloon

If anyone is wondering how this release sounds 30 years later let me be the first to tell you it’s loud, like louder than most Butthole Surfers records. Great copy, glad I got mine

Plain Knockers beware, great space on this one. A digital copy but John Paul Jones' work probably saved it. Really nice trans blue.

Too noisy. Many cracks and pops all along the whole record.

Just spun my copy of the LP for the first time since right after I bought it back in '93... I've heard a lot of negatives about the reissues, but this original UK press sounds monstrous, thick and fat. If you want this one on LP, without hearing the other pressings, I can say this press is totally worth having. I bought it and basically filed it away when it came out, so I'm just used to hearing the digital copy all these decades. This record sounds great!

Don't understand why some are complaining? Mine sound very good !!!

My copy sounds really good as do other Plain releases like the Primus stuff. I'm all for calling out crappy labels but so far I've had zero problems with Plain although NOBODY should be cramming this much audio on an LP

Plain don't have the best track record - so I was quite wary about buying this, but this is actually a pretty decent press. Fairly quiet, but for such a long album pressed on the one record I would expect that. If you can't afford an original copy but want to have IWS on vinyl, this is worth picking up.

If there is no swearing on this version. Does that mean that Dust Devil & Clean It Up have also been edited?

Terrible sound quality as on all Plain Recordings i have come over. Stay away from this awful label.

My copy is excellent sounding.. i must have been lucky.
