Kim Wilde – Love Is

Unfortunately I disagree with the comments that the sound of "Love is" is dynamic. Compared to the first 3 Albums in their latest Remasters, as well as compared to the same songs from the latest Greatest Hits Box Set, this (CD) edition sounds very compressed! The balance between the vocals and the music is completely lost and the compression makes everything sound “boxed-in” and too loud. Otherwise the packaging is very beautiful, including a lot of photos and infos.

If anyone's wondering why there's an instrumental If I Can't Have You (Jon Robinson Mix) but not the actual version with vocals, that actual version is actually here, it's just under its other name: f I Can't Have You (Made in Japan)

What is the difference between Album Version & 7'' Version of 'Who do you think who you are' (track 1-2 & track 1-19)??

I have listened to most of the tracks on the album and i can say that the mastering is very good compared to what is commonly known as loudness wars. This CD is very dynamic, it is louder than the original but its not compressed like the close album from 2013 which was a massive loud mess. This type of mastering needs to be promoted as it lets the music breathe which in the end is more enjoyable to listen to.

This reissue sounds very good on my turntable. From what im hearing the vocals seem to stand out more on this version compared to my original UK pressing. The volume on this record is quiet but thats a good thing as it means that there are more dynamics in the sound. I do recommend this version as these are widely available compared to the originals which are expensive these days to get on vinyl that is.

I still play this and cant believe the low sales in Australia.one of Kim Wilde's best releases but the charts indicate otherwise, i am waiting for a deluxe version with the non album tracks and mixes. I am aware this might not happen because it hasn't happened yet but i will be there when it does and be the first to order it.
