I will never understand why so few people go with this record...It may not be the Adolescents - but they totally ignore the fact that this here is quite simply brilliant in both ways - songwriting and performance wise...I remember when it came out many people where disappointed - but my friends and me loved it...songs like Genius in pain and Balboa Fun Zone just blew us away while Tattoo time is nothing but a bloody hymn for a whole generation - those songs carry some of Rikk's finest leads and melody ideas...And don't forget the overkiller Frustrated...All those songs come straight from the gut and don't sound artificial or something like it at all...They just show how well educated and grown up those guys music wise were at that time - without forgetting where thay came from - and that goes for the music as for the lyrics...to me at least...The scene was changing dramatically at that time - and many went into the alternative direction while others went on to metal...Probably the problem with this here was that it is neither...It's just pure rock...This here/All By Myself and Learn are my favorites of all records Rikk was involved in...To me it will always remain a milestone from those days...
