Need a 2025 double LP repress for the 30 years of this wonderful album
Excellent sound quality on this original UK vinyl pressing from 1995. It’s 2 discs albeit lightweight. Generic inner sleeves which I replaced with MoFi Original Master Sleeves. Nice cover artwork. I owned the UK CD version back in the 90’s and played it a LOT. Very happy with this vinyl version and highly recommend it to fans of Jodeci. Overall, a nice punchy sound when pushing the volume.- What can I say? My favorite J o D e C i album of all-time! So happy to have it as part of my vinyl and JoDeCi collection.. sound good and 2 LP? even better than I would imagine the 1 LP for the US pressing
Mine had duplicate copies of sides C and D. If anyone has doubles of sides A and B and would like to trade let me know!- Edited 4 years agoSpreading the album across double vinyl on the UK edition has given it a louder, more dynamic sound in comparison to the lower audio tone of this vinyl US release which squeezes all 22 tracks (or over 63 minutes of music) on two sides.
This is arguably Jodeci's best work, which in comparison with their previous set, illustrates a more organic inspired development in production to an almost P-funk (or rather G-funk) style of Hip-Hop /R&B that dominated the 90's.
People continually reference D'Angelo, Maxwell, Erykah as genre defining R&B albums of the 90's. But in my personal opinion the 'The Show, The Afterparty, The Hotel' equally deserves a place alongside those classic recordings. Even more so because most artist's debut albums are their best work. You know the saying "You spend your whole life making ya first record.... yada yada yada......!!!!" Yet two great albums in and Devante pulled this masterpiece out the bag. 
Edited 2 years agoJust bought this. The vinyl's are thin...but the sound is rich and full. I did not expect this quality. It doesn't need to be always a 180g vinyl to sound damn good.- I don't know for the UK press, but on the US one the sound is really low
