Good reissue. I don't know why it is a lot yellower than the original LP. Includes most of the art and information from the initial LP release, just laid out differently. Wish the cover art was as clear as it seems on the original LP, there is not as much contrast between the clouds and the figures, though everything remains distinguishable enough. Remaster sounds fine, this album was recorded with almost no dynamic range, though having heard the original sound, it seems similar enough. Later remasters try to remedy this but I believe that history preservation is much more important and I prefer it this way.- I picked this up needing to replace my original copy that I got from a deceased friend 30 years ago. In all honesty I’ve learned to keep my bar for quality low when it comes to %98 of what’s being reissued on vinyl these days as it’s mostly overpriced “cash grab” garbage. All that being said this pressing was a pleasant surprise. No clicks, no unwanted background noise and the soundstage is actually present with pounding base if your system can handle it.? I’m not into colored vinyl as it’s just another marketing ploy to sell records to people that shop at places like Target but in this case it doesn’t seem to interfere with the sound quality. Printed inner sleeve is nice but I would send this LP through the cleaner and put it in a clean poly sleeve if I was you. Definitely worth the money.
- To me the 7" included more of shows that Amebix had a Motorhead type of thing going on in the band. Biker vibes as will, shame they didn't keep the sound as on the album it's a bit of an opposite.
- That's weird...
On my copy the "cultural terrorism" banner is on the B side of the LP but not on the 7"
The B side labels are also more of a reddish brown rathrr than the dark red. - Also both side B labels match the brownish color of the 1st repress rather than the red color of this one
- I've also got a copy that matches the matrix numbers of this pressing & has the "20 years of cultural terrorism" banner on side B labels on the LP...but not on the 7"
So that's a little confusing. referencing Arise! (LP, Album) VIRUS 46
One of the greatest crust bands there ever was. A great record and a must have for you anarcho punks. Pure raw gutter sludge that oozes from the speakers and into your ears for your listening pleasure.Warning: May give you multiple earlobe orgasms commonly refereed to as a lobegasm. Don't even try to consider yourself as punk if you haven't listened to this band or record. The Amebix have their own sound that will never be duplicated.- I've got a version of this that has the runoff etchings from this one, but the LP label has the "20 years of cultural terrorism" banner from http://www.discogs.com/Amebix-Arise-2/release/4465682 on it. The 7" label does not though.
