Great album from Wire, probably their best. Glad to have it on CD now.

Wire's third and final studio release before their 8 year hiatus, 154 is a towering post/art punk record and it amazes me that this thing came out in the late 70's. Amazing production, I just wish the pink flag reissue included the 7" EP, just a nitpick from a completionist.

This pressing is better than my Dutch one, bought when this came out in 79 (and it was then one of the few records, together with Eno and PIL, that kept me from playing the Berlin Trilogy and Station to Station of Bowie over and over). The playing time is long yet the sound is clear now, in stead of hazy (in those days the mastering seemed aimed at weedsmokers), and the incredible bass comes through better. One of the few times the old analogue is beaten. Sole complaint, although my copy is flawless, the carton in which the vinyl is kept may cause damage, so get plastic protection!

Great pressing. There was some crackle between songs but that all but disappeared after a good cleaning. Lots of dynamics and subtle sounds come through in the mix.

Not only Wire’s best album in my opinion but one of the best albums ever made full stop and once again sold zilch when released. You knew these guys weren’t aiming for your average NME reader when they had and the only band I know of to have a double page advert for 154 in the Guardian. (UK Broadsheet) when released.

Just noticed that Hilly Kristal owner of CBGB's gets a credit for 'bass voice'. Wonder how that came about?

This original has amazing tonal balance and tubey magic. A hot stamper

Wire 154 is to all intent & purposes the future of music & still sounds cutting edge 40 years later no mean feat. Punk energy with an almost wilful experimental edge but still in tight arrangements. Just unbelievable a true masterpiece.

Perfect Pressing. Incredible Sound. A must have record. Thanks Wire

My copy has a lot of crackle in the background. Not that great pressing in my opinion. I have unofficials which sound way better.
Bit disappointed by this one.
