The hole punches and odd shaped sleeve - it was designed to fit in a Filofax, ask your grandparents what that was.

Absolutely brilliant reimaginings of four great Wire tracks. I really wish I had discovered this back in the day, but it's also nice to have some new Wire (circa 88) to listen too! HIGHLY recommended for all Wire fans!

I was fairly surprised with this release. First of all, the Silk Skin Paws 'full length version' is really just a remix with some additional instrumentation, no longer than the album version; with that said, I actually enjoy the fuller electronic sound of the remix over the original. The second track, German Shepherds (studio version), is perhaps not as strong as the IBTABA version but still a solid effort, more along the lines of the sound Wire accomplished with Ideal Copy. The Ambitious remix is kind of a cheesy dancier piece with some really lame percussion thrown in; still it's decent for a few listens I think (it's more a remix of the alternate version as it contains Colin on vocals). Come Back In Two Halves (Re-recorded) is simply an awesome track, totally ahead of the album version, though I do like both pretty well; it has a more matured attitude, sort of how IBTABA was meant to make correction to A Bell Is A Cup, this piece is relatively in the same mindset.

Overall, this CD is full of stuff that--I'm pretty positive--hasn't been made available elsewhere and totally worth it for fans of Wire's Mute period (and especially for fans who can't really get into A Bell Is A Cup, myself included).
